The GAO reports that the Navy is short of spare parts for F-14Ds and EA-6Bs due to defense cuts over the last eight years, and that these shortages have caused Navy units to fall below required readiness levels. The Army is short of spare parts for its helicopters (for the same reason) but has maintained its required readiness (barely).--Stephen V Cole
