Textron has received a $35 million contract to extend the service life of the two oldest LCAC (Landing Craft Air Cushion) vessels. The improvements include engine upgrades, a new skirt, hull and fuel modifications to improve the trim, and a new communications and navigation suite. All 74 LCACs are to be upgraded over 15 years for a cost of $1.6 billion.Stephen V Cole
